At The Petzzy, we want your checkout experience to be smooth, safe, and stress-free. This Payment Policy explains everything you need to know about how we handle payments — from accepted methods to security and beyond.

We do not currently accept checks, money orders, cash on delivery (COD), bank transfers, or cryptocurrency.

Currency All prices on our website are listed and processed in US Dollars (USD). If you're paying with a card issued in another country, your bank may apply currency conversion or international transaction fees. These charges are determined by your bank and are not controlled by The Petzzy.

Secure Checkout Your security is one of our top priorities. Here's how we keep your payment information safe:

  • All transactions are processed through a secure, encrypted SSL (Secure Socket Layer) connection
  • Our payment processors are PCI DSS compliant (the highest standard for payment security)
  • We never store your full credit card number on our servers
  • Sensitive payment details are handled directly by trusted payment processors (such as Shopify Payments, PayPal, Stripe)

Order Confirmation Once your payment is successfully processed, you'll receive an automatic order confirmation email within a few minutes. This email will include:

  • Your order number
  • A summary of items purchased
  • Shipping and billing addresses
  • Estimated delivery information
  • Total amount charged

If you don't see the email within 24 hours, please check your spam, junk, or promotions folder. If it's still missing, don't worry — just reach out to us and we'll resend it.

Authorization Holds When you place an order, your card issuer may place a temporary authorization hold on your account for the order total. This is not an actual charge — it simply verifies that your card has sufficient funds. The hold typically clears within 1–5 business days, depending on your bank.

Billing Information To ensure smooth processing, please make sure:

  • Your billing address matches the one on file with your bank
  • The name on the card matches what you've entered at checkout
  • Your card has not expired
  • Sufficient funds are available

Mismatched information is the most common cause of declined payments.

Declined Payments If your payment is declined, please try the following:

  1. Double-check your card number, expiration date, and CVV/CVC
  2. Verify that your billing address matches your bank's records
  3. Check that your card has not expired
  4. Make sure you have sufficient funds available
  5. Contact your bank to confirm they aren't blocking the transaction (they sometimes block online or international purchases for security)
  6. Try a different payment method

If you've tried all of the above and still can't complete your purchase, please contact our support team — we'll be glad to help.

Multiple Payment Attempts If your payment is declined multiple times in a short period, our fraud prevention system may temporarily block further attempts. This is to protect you from unauthorized use of your card. If this happens, please wait a few hours before trying again, or contact us for assistance.

Sales Tax Sales tax is calculated and added at checkout where required by law, based on your shipping address. The tax amount will be clearly shown before you confirm your order.

Order Cancellations & Refunds For order cancellations, please contact us within 1 hour of placing your order. Once an order is in processing, we may not be able to cancel it.

For refunds, please refer to our Refund & Return Policy. Refunds are issued back to the original payment method and typically take 5–7 business days to process on our end, plus an additional 3–10 business days for your bank to post the refund to your account.

Pre-Orders & Backorders For pre-order or backorder items, your card will be charged at the time the order is placed. You'll be notified of any shipping delays, and you may request a refund if the wait becomes longer than expected.

Promotional Codes & Discounts

  • Only one promotional code can be applied per order, unless otherwise stated
  • Promo codes must be applied at checkout — we cannot apply them retroactively
  • Promotional codes cannot be combined with other offers (unless explicitly stated)
  • Promo codes have no cash value and cannot be transferred or sold

Payment Disputes & Chargebacks If you ever have a concern about a charge, please contact us first before initiating a chargeback with your bank. In most cases, we can resolve issues quickly through direct communication. Chargebacks initiated without contacting us first may result in account restrictions.

Fraud Prevention For the safety of our customers, all orders are screened for fraud. In rare cases, we may need to verify your identity or additional information before processing your order. If this happens, we'll reach out via email — please respond promptly so we can complete your order.
